History and Fiction

This book by Gardiner is a quick read. It is different from the Secret of the Serpent book in that this material is presented in a fictional format. The plus side to that is that the Secret of the Serpent book was somewhat stilted and hard to read straight through (like a reference guide). This Brotherhood book is a clean and fun read. At the end of the book Gardiner includes a timeline of important historical dates and events that can help spur on additional research if you are so inclinded.
I only had one pet peeve with this book and that was the errors in some of the writing. I found dozens of grammatical and spelling errors. I personally find it a bit annoying and was tempted to send my marked-up copy directly to Gardiner. Don't get me wrong, it is easy to read. My guess is that Gardiner's resources are somewhat limited and he did not have the opportunity to enlist the services of a professional editor or proofreader.

Very interesting story...

This book, based on research and also fiction, is a good read. It is a fast-paced mystery, and it draws you in. I kept holding my breath to see where the ending would take us...and it was worth the wait. I also enjoyed Mr. Gardiner's book "Secrets of the Serpent" and his dvd "Legend of the Serpent"--he has done other books I would like to read but I can only afford so much, especially when his "Grail" book is exorbitantly priced on Amazon. Oh well, maybe one day. But I enjoyed "Brotherhood of the Snake" and would buy it again, even in spite of the run-on sentences...at the beginning of the book he explains that some of his concepts made it where publishers wouldn't publish his book, so he had to make it fiction. I think there's a lot of truth to what Mr. Gardiner is forced to describe as just fiction, but only the author truly knows where the facts end and fiction begins...it's still a great read at any rate.

Not bad but, writing style inconsistent. Needs some final refinement.

The basic story is cool but, the book needs refinement. Too many scenes, and a few characters seemed like they could have been expanded upon in better detail. Good basic plot though.
