Includes 85,000 entries with meanings, definitions, explanations, parts of speech, etymology, and sub-entries (words, inflexions, phrase, proverbs, and compounds) in a user-friendly style.

Mr Suhail Anjum has been associated with OUP as a freelancer, editor, and translator on a number of projects. He has also contributed as editor to the Oxford English-Urdu Dictionary compiled by Shanul Haq Haqqee.

Dr Rauf Parekh is a lexicographer and well-known author, compiler, reviewer, and columnist of Pakistan. He has served as Chief Editor of the Urdu Dictionary Board, Federal Ministry of Education.

Very italian.

Well, highly successful Italian coaches explaining tactics. Exactly what I expected. Defending, defending defending. After reading this book, you will be the master at a nice taccenaccio...
Anyways, a little one-dimensional, very detailed, great coaches, awkward english and relatively complicated explanations.
The biggest thing to improve would be better pictures/sketches of the tactics or drills. They are actually fine, but the resolution in the e-book version is poor, so you can hardly read the tiny numbers of the players.

Good info -- but very DISAPPOINTED.

Good info BUT... VERY DISAPPOINTED it was not better rendered for English speaking audience (What? The English don't play futball??). Comic and sometimes confusing trans-literations abound in this book making it appear that I am listening to an Italian possessing only a moderate command of English language -- There is some really good stuff here but you have to work at it to figure out what the author is getting at....Clearly, this book was poorly "proofed" (at best) and most diagrams simply mislabeled. This sloppy editing is sure sign educational books are not a high priority for the author. Feels more like a series of lengthy magazine interviews w/ Zauli and some diagrams tossed in but just expanded into a book. Again, good info but don't buy it expecting everything to be laid out in front of you.

Overall, good information but could have...SHOULD have been much better.

This is one of the best tactical books that I have ever read. Being a collegiate coach I pulled a lot of different pointers out of this read. This reading takes complex theories and breaks them down into simplistic fundamentals that can help you develop your own system of play no matter what it may be.

I recommend this book for all coaches, no matter the age or level of play.

Fabulous for beginner cookie decorators & bakers!

I checked this out from my local library and knew after making The vanilla almond recipe I had to have this book permanently. The decorating ideas are adorable and creative. Her step by step instructions make cookie decorating much easier for a beginner. Decorating cookies is NOT easy, but this book makes it as easy as it can be.

The book has good ideas for decorating some sugar cookies I've made in the past. I thought it would be a good buy for the ideas and it was. Haven't used it much though but glad I purchased it. Very colorful book. Quick delivery. Good price. I probably would buy another by this author, just haven't looked.

Eshkol Nevo captured the feeling of home in this book

I bought this book as I was looking for a book in English (as I can't read Hebrew) about every day people living in Israel since I've been visiting Israel. I wanted to get more of a feel for the people and their lives. plus I've been feeling homesick for my own country and home. many of the places and things mentioned in the book were very familiar to me since my stay here and the characters seem like friends now. at first I found it hard to work out who was speaking as all the characters say "I" - they are each telling their own story in first person throughout the book. once I got used to this the characters grew on me. I loved the simple details mentioned in the book about everyday life and I have a mental picture about them living their lives now. I'll be keeping an eye out for more books by the author as I really enjoyed this one and recommend it to anyone who would like to read about life in Israel (ie not the media-portrayed view of Israel)

A novel for people who want to go home again

This novel requires courage to read since the "ideological" freight might be heavy for some readers, my fellow Americans. Originally published in Hebrew, in Israel, in 2004, this novel may be hard to find in the U.S. (The copy I have is a 2008 English translation, Vintage U.K. Random House.) I wanted to read this novel, Homesick, ever since I first heard about it in a review in the London Times Literary Supplement.) The fact that the author is Jewish and native to Israel interested me--and I'd never read a novel set in Israel--but also because there is a Muslim Arab character, Saddiq, a construction worker who is hardly in the novel but his presence is everywhere--which I will explain. The setting is a small village, Mevasseret or "Castel," halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The geography as a setting plays no role in this novel, and I think the reader will see that the novel is about the psychological landscape and the two or three houses in which the action unfolds.

The energy of the novel circulates around the personal and interpersonal conflicts of two couples living in a partitioned house, so close that they can hear the arguments--and other things--and smell the cooking. One couple, about 30-ish, has been married seven or eight years, Sima and Moshe Zakian; they are renting out a smaller portion of their house to the younger unmarried couple, Noa, a photography student, and Amir, a psychology student. Also crucial are Moshe's parents, living upstairs, the 70-ish Avram and Gina.

In a way, this is Noa's novel, the female photography student who looks for homesickness in everyone's face--including Arab residents.

A third (or fourth) couple--living in a house across an empty lot--plays a key role because their pre-teen son, Yotam, befriends Amir, who has become a kind of surrogate brother because Yotam's older brother, Gidi, was killed in the war in Lebanon. The novel plays out along many tensions between these three houses. Yotam's parents are deeply mourning the lost of their son, Gidi; this topic of war allows the author to explore the cost of military service and his nation's constant fear, as well as the constant mourning which makes the parents neglect their boy, Yotam. Also, Moshe Zakian's brother is "orthodox" Jewish (a fundamentalist) who brings about tension because Sima refuses to send their five-year-old son to an orthodox school. The novel shows that there are obviously different ways of being Jewish.

But, at one point, the key to the novel is literally a key. One of the Arab Muslim construction workers--working on a house across from Sima and Moshe Zakian (and Noa and Amir)--suspects that the Zakian house is the one that he and his Palestinian family owned until 1948 when they were evicted. Saddiq has the key to the front door and the property deed showing that it is their house; the family was, of course, forcibly removed, and they left in a hurry, the mother leaving something valuable during their flight in '48. The reader can imagine that there will be tension if the Arab knocks on their door and wants to go in to find what his mother left; even if the Arab has a good explanation and shows them the key and the property deed, he might be met with suspicion. These scenes are loaded with irony and subtext. It becomes obvious that only the old grandfather upstairs can understand the Arab, and he does that in a moment of "insanity" while he's recovering from an operation.

At first I thought that it must have taken the Jewish author, Eshkol Nevo, a lot of courage to write the novel, but then I realized that writing it was natural for him. Nevo has simply written his life, written what he knows. It's the reader who requires courage. The reader has got to be able to see that there are all kinds of Israeli people and that Arabs and Jews already share the land, that their histories and their lives are intertwined. This novel, Homesick, is the history and sociology behind the nightly news. This novel does what only a novel can do: show us a kind of truth missing from all other media.

To summarize, very character has something personal that each is hiding from others; giving up concealment can be difficult, speaking out can be frightening. It's a big step when people realize they can love each other.

An intense tour through the shadowlands of Love's aftermath, with moments of beauty and hopefulness scattered throughout.

The Imaginary Traveler is 184 pages packed full of poetry, prose, and imaginative artwork. Let me say up front that this is not a book for those looking for light and sickly-sweet poems. It dives deep into the divine madness of love, lust, and obsession. It is a retrospective look at love’s dizzying apex, and the subsequent long fall, and sickening impact with a harsh reality.

Your hands have never touched me,
and yet you seem to have hit all the right spots.
Those seen and unseen, both inside and out,
places no one else has ever reached…

The poems are unsparingly introspective; by turns both beautiful and brutal, and sometimes beautifully brutal. We look at at the memories of a relationship through the cracked pane and jagged glass shards of the emotional aftermath of lost love and unanswered questions. Massiel guides us through the desolate landscape of a heart betrayed, and Jorgensen’s vivid illustrations add further impact to the writing.

Write me a prescription
for a pill that kills softly,
the quietest of deaths…
no dreams left worth hoping,
no hopes worthy of being dreamt,
no more why and wherefore,
my darling, I must end.

Though much of the book delves into dark places of the heart, there are moments of beauty and hopefulness scattered throughout.

in and out of this body once again.

I’m glad I read The Imaginary Traveler. It was a journey well worth taking, and I recommend it to anyone who loves poetry and isn’t afraid to wander down all the twisted pathways where love and lust might lead.

A series of poems, mostly painful and bitter, on the subject of love. It is filled with imagery, and the illustrations beautifully exemplify them. The author's descriptive ability is able to shock and pain, bringing up your most poignant memories.

About the Author
Tom Fettke holds degrees from Oakland City College and California State University at Hayward. He has taught music in both public and Christian schools and has served as a church choir director and minister of music in churches large and small for over 30 years. He is in considerable demand as a guest conductor, clinician, and worship leader. Tom is also a composer, arranger, and producer of music and recordings for the contemporary Christian church and has been associated with Lillenas Publishing Company since 1973. He and his wife, Jan, have two married sons and seven grandchildren. Since 1969, Dave Williamson has been minister of music in churches ranging in attendance from 350 to 5000. A licensed pastor, his background is varied, having served in Baptist, Presbyterian, Missionary, Charismatic, and non-denominational churches. His choirs and singing groups have been featured on dozens of recordings. He has produced and/or arranged for Christian musicians such as FFH, Larnelle Harris, Ron Kenoly, Babbie Mason, The Martins, Point of Grace, Alvin Slaughter, Sandi Patty, Natalie Grant, Truth and scores more -- over 500 major recording projects since 1970. the old switch-eroo

I never expected to be interested in F/m spanking fiction, but Rollin Hand won my heart and my head for the genre. The stories in "Tales From a Switch" are not only full of his usual highly descriptive spanking antics, but they are just fun to read, since he always relies on imaginative story lines and realistic dialogue. It "could" happen just as he says -- the reader ends up thinking. And even if it doesn't, it was great entertainment imagining it along with the author.
I like it that so many of the male characters are caught by surprise in their roles and are endearing in their responses.
Rollin's stories may not cause anyone to "switch" permanently, but they will make most readers sit up and take notice and consider the other side of the coin.

I've been looking for some southern style cookbooks, then I found this one. Let me say I'm not a pro chef by any means, but this book made me cook like one. It is full of tasty recipes that are super easy, and easy by step by step approach, with good explanation, and easier execution. My family was surprised with my new home menu choices, and even more how delicious they were. I am so glad I found this book, and will purchase others like it.
