Diesel Mechanics is an excellent manual for understanding the function, design, trouble-shooting, and repairing of various diesel engines. From basic safety tips, to diagnostic tool usage, and the inner working of today's diesel engine, this manual is one of the best out there. With over 300 detailed illustrations to supplement a very readable and 'user friendly' text, this book is a both a great reference source and solid beginner's introduction to diesel engines. The text, itself, is very easy to understand. It avoids the double-trouble areas of oversimplification and excessive 'wordiness' that many diesel engine manuals fall prey to. Rather, the chapters are well designed and broken down for easier study and quick reference. They are also exceedingly well arranged for logical comprehension that takes the reader step-by-step through the process of first understanding the inner workings of diesel engines, and then the all important aspects of diagnostics and repair. Whether you're a professional or shade-tree mechanic you'll find this book an outstanding resourse for your automotive library. This book is very detailed and easy to understand. My fianc� can now rebuild his f250 without cussing and yelling lol. This was our first rodeo with a diesel and this book has been a life saver. He did go to automotive schooling but they only covered regular gasoline engines. Thank you again for putting this out there for the public to use!

Smoking hot and heart-wrenching.

Isabel has been forced to live by the side of her mate, her love, for eight hundred years, all while he has no memory of her...
Let that sink in for a minute.
She has been forced into her own personal hell with no good explanation. She has had no one to talk to, no one to hear her, nothing to smell, touch, eat or do but follow around Brody no matter where he goes or what he does.

Brody is living a life of self-destruction. As alpha of his pack he is supposed to live by example but that has not been happening. He drinks himself numb, screws himself into oblivion and has no idea what his problem is. He has been alive for over 800 years but he is barely surviving until one fateful night when Isabel literally falls back into his life.

"Instead of living happily by his side, I'm living in hell, with no end in sight."

Being back is harder than being gone and Brody is forced to deal with the pain that Isabel has endured while he knew nothing. While Isabel is in emotional turmoil and doesn't know which end is up. These two are good at two things; fighting and sex. Everything else, they can't seem to figure out, not to mention there is still the mystery as to what happened in the first place.

I LOVE paranormal romance books and this was no exception. I loved learning about the pack and meeting some of the other players. I enjoyed all of the characters, Brody is an alpha in every sense of the word and Isabel is a strong willed heroine who doesn't put up with anything. These two heat up the pages both physically and verbally. Their story broke my heart to have it all, only to lose it and one who remembers and another who doesn't. It was also a unique story which had me from the very beginning. I am definitely looking forward to more of this series.

Stuck with the Heroine

Isabel McKay has been trapped for 800 years, tethered to her mate's side, watching his downward spiral ... watching him hump anything that came his way. Her only sin was that she fell in love with Brody Balfour. Then again, their predicament isn't Brody fault either. They are both victims of a crazy delusional witch looking for revenge. Straight forward plot: Boy+Girl+Ancient Curse= Witch's Revenge but the female lead just messed up the story a bit. The heroine is in full I'm the victim mode and I understand why. But come on.

The male lead (Brody) is drowning himself in self destructive sexual activity and she's really pissed (and its understandable) that she has to witness it. But this character goes from being pissed about him having sexual encounters with hundreds of women for 800 year to being mad that he didn't care enough about them or that he didn't take the time to get to know them. Really? I understand that the heroine's behavior helps to lead up to the climax of the story but there is a certain strength lacking in this female lead.

Waste of time

I tend to write lengthy review, good and bad. But for the life of me, I cannot muster up anything for this mindless drivel bit of porn I just read. Granted the premise itself was unique enough but the execution was poor. It lacked depth, the main characters were beyond annoying. So much I wanted the hurled my reading device against the wall. If they didn't fight, they were screwing each other non-stop. And I'm not sure there was even an plot. An 800 year separation and it's back to sex, sex, fighting, and more sex. That's basically the whole theme of this book.

And maybe I'm in the minority but I hate having to read when the heroines ends up apologizing more than the heroes. I get it must of been devastating watching her man screwing other women for 800 years but really. One minute she's shaking w/anger and jealousy. One touch from the heroes, and she quivering with lust. Way to hold up a strong front. You do us womenfolk proud. I mean, honestly is that's what it comes to these days. Each book lately is almost all the same, weak women who bends so easily. And don't even get me started on the hero. His whole "Get over It" or "I'll screw the attitude out of you" was getting old. I like possessive heroes but not the overbearing, douche type like Brody.

By the time I got to the end, I was sighing with relief. I regret ever taking my friend's dare to read this book. She finds it amusing to torture me I guess. But hey, if you have a couple hours to kill and in a mood for a smutty read with zero character development go for it. Otherwise I'd skip it.

About the Author
Haraldur Sigurdsson is emeritus professor at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island in the United States of America. He has worked on volcanic processes and the geochemistry of volcanic rocks for over fifty years. His studies have in part been focused on the impact of volcanic activity on human populations, especially his work on Vesuvius in Italy, Tambora in Indonesia, El Chichon in Mexico and studies of deadly gas bursts from Cameroon crater lakes. He has also studied the global environmental effects of meteorite impacts, such as the one that marks the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary. His books include Melting the Earth, accounting for the evolution of ideas about formation of magmas and the origin of volcanic eruptions. Haraldur is currently director of the Volcano Museum in Stykkisholmur, Iceland.

Bruce Houghton is the Gordon MacDonald Professor in Volcanology at University of Hawaii at Manoa and Hawaiian State Volcanologist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand. He is also Science Director at the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center at University of Hawaii. Previously he had a career of twenty five years as a volcanologist in New Zealand, culminating in leading the scientific response to the 1995-96 eruption of Ruapehu volcano. Bruce has published over 220 research papers in international journals and has worked in Alaska, Chile, El Salvador, Greece, Hawaii, Iceland, Italy, Germany, Nicaragua, Thailand and New Zealand.

Steve McNutt is a Professor in the School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida (USF). He has worked on volcanic processes using seismology, infrasound, and lightning instruments for over 35 years. He worked half time for the Alaska Volcano Observatory from 1991-2012 and was closely involved in monitoring efforts for eruptions at Spurr, Pavlof, Shishaldin, Augustine, Okmok, Kasatochi, and Redoubt volcanoes. He coordinates seismology research at USF, and presently supervises 3 graduate students and a Post-Doc. His research interests include: 1) studies of source and propagation effects for volcanic tremor, low-frequency events, and explosion earthquakes; 2) volcanic hazards assessments in Alaska, California, and Central America; 3) the mechanical behavior of volcanoes, including periodicity of eruptions, and the effects of earth tides, sea level variations, and tectonic stresses on triggering eruptive activity; 4) volcano infrasound; and 5) volcanic lightning. From July 1999 to July 2007 he served as Secretary-General for the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior.

Hazel Rymer is presently the Dean and Director of Studies in the Faculty of Science and Profesor of Environmental Volcanology.

Hazel has developed and championed the use of microgravity as a tool for monitoring active volcanoes. She has used this method to identify sub-surface processes at calderas in a state of unrest and at persistently active volcanoes and this has given geoscientists considerable insight into the range of mechanisms responsible for initiating and sustaining volcanic activity. The technique Hazel pioneered is now the standard method for gravity monitoring on volcanoes; it remains the only way to quantify the sub-surface mass changes that occur before, during and after eruptions.

John Stix has studied active volcanoes for 26 years, specializing in volcanic gases, eruption mechanisms, and the impact of volcanic activity. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in volcanology, natural hazards, and environmental geology. He also is involved in field courses, where he exposes students to hands-on observations of natural processes such as volcanic eruptions and floods. He has been involved in many training courses and workshops in Canada, the US, and Latin America to teach volcanology. He has collaborated extensively with colleagues in Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Ecuador in volcano studies and volcanic hazards. From 2003 to 2010 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Bulletin of Volcanology, the leading international journal related to the study of volcanoes and volcanism. He is currently part of an international team to drill into an active silicic magma body beneath Krafla volcano in Iceland.
