A good guide on project management....

Projects are a day to day part of our lives. I mean you can have a home project, work project, school, church etc. Whatever project you are working on the end goal is usually to see fruitful results. However, this is not always the case. Sometimes we start projects all ready to rocket fly it then boom! We get hit back to the ground. If you have ever been caught up in “project gone bad” and failure then Fred Mercado’s book is something to invest in. He first gives insights on how to be a good project manager factoring in issues of time management, costs and what to do to mitigate failure. He points out the major obstacles to a project success and how to avoid them, signs of identifying a failing project and how to save it. From a corporate point of view, he helps understand how to get a project back on track and five general principles of a project manager. This is a book well researched and written from the author’s deepest level of understanding. It may not be the gospel truth or tandem to everyone’s way of thinking but it is a very resourceful piece of information written with a heart to help out the target audience in running a successful project.

Terrible Book

Despite the glowing reviews, this is one of the worst books I've ever read. It seems like the author did not even proof-read his gibberish based on the number of grammatical errors throughout the text. The material is VERY basic and doesn't go into any real method of correcting a troubled project. I regret spending the time and money on this book. The most insightful parts were direct quotes out of other books and the PMBOK.
I also found it very suspect that so many positive reviews appeared in such a short amount of time and then nobody reviewed it for two months. If you click on any of the reviewer's names you'll see these people review 4-5 books a day all with glowing reviews. I believe this is a scam.

This book gives me a better understanding towards leading a successful project, externally it highlights the importance of job scope and requirement given by client, and then internally focus on the unhindered communication to make sure all staff involved in project understand clearly their job requirement and responsibilities.
Other important areas also involve implementation of risk management, time management and project budgets, progress schedule etc. Even though it is tough to implement but considered very beneficial in long run. Overall it is a worth reading book.
